Which Bali area fits you best?
Canggu, Ubud, Seminyak and Uluwatu are four different islands pretending to be one. They're an hour apart on a good day, they attract different people, and each one shapes a working week in its own way. Pick the one that matches how you want to live, and know that wherever you land, a proper desk, chair and monitor can be there the same day.
Ubud: for the long, quiet stay
Ubud is the island's cultural centre, set among rice terraces and temples an hour inland, and it draws the writers, designers and founders who've come to think. The town itself is walkable, full of good food and yoga, and busier than its reputation. The real Ubud starts ten minutes out, in villas that look over nothing but green.

Canggu: for the community
Canggu is where the largest remote-working community in Bali lives, between surf breaks and rice paddies that are fast turning into cafés. Batu Bolong and Echo Beach set the rhythm: surf early, work through the day, sunset at a beach club. It has more coworking spaces than anywhere else on the island and the most reliable villa Wi-Fi.
It's also the busiest, and the traffic has become a real part of the day. Choose a villa off the main roads. We're based here, so monitor rental in Canggu usually arrives within a couple of hours.
Seminyak: for the polished version
Seminyak is Bali at its most refined: design shops, serious restaurants, and beach clubs like Potato Head that set the standard for the rest of the island. The villas are among the most beautiful in Bali and the evenings are the best. It suits people who work hard during the day and want the evening to feel like somewhere.
There's less dedicated coworking than in Canggu, so most people here work from the villa, which makes the setup at home matter more.
Uluwatu: for the view
Uluwatu sits on the limestone cliffs of the Bukit peninsula, with the temple on the headland, world-class surf below, and clifftop villas that feel a long way from everywhere. It's calmer than Canggu and much more spread out, and the sunsets from the cliffs are the best on the island.
A coworking scene has grown along the main road, but most villas are a ride away from it, which is why setting up a proper home office matters more in Uluwatu than anywhere in the south. Uluwatu is inside our free-delivery zone.
Nusa Penida and the east: for a change of pace
Nusa Penida, a boat ride south-east of Sanur, is dramatic, rugged and very quiet, with manta rays at Manta Point and some of the most striking coastline in Indonesia. It's a wonderful long weekend and a harder place to base a working life, with patchier connections and a longer trip back.
