On the south side of the Monkey Forest, Nyuh Kuning has carved gates, woodcarvers and leafy lanes, and you can walk into town through the forest.
Nyuh Kuning is a customary village inside Desa Mas, with Jalan Raya Pengosekan beside it and Lodtunduh further south. Its streets are made more for walking and cycling than for cars, and it has eco-conscious cafés and guesthouses.
Families and people staying for months settle here. Further south, around Lodtunduh, there's more space, newer villas and easier car access.
